Have you ever gone on vacation and wished you could stay longer, or visited friends and thought, "This just wasn't enough time."

Be careful what you wish for.

Jen and I were down in Pennsylvania on Saturday for my a cappella group's reunion concert and were staying with friends. Because of an work emergency, we were intending to return to New York early Sunday morning, and were both a little annoyed that our stay was going to be cut short.

Enter the You-Asked-For-It Fairy.

Jen's lung collapsed and she spent 4 days in the hospital. The day she got discharged, our car was having problems, so I took it in to the dealership and we spent another day in PA. I got the call that the car was ready, so finally we got packed and took off to come home... and the car died.

It was supposed to take 5 days to get the part and fix the car, but we were nervous about what might break down after the car, and knew we had to escape. So we borrowed a friend's car and got the heck out of Dodge. (technically Ford, but you get the point).

I'm supposed to go back to get the car on Tuesday.

I'm bringing my passport and a survival kit.
